Ace choreographer Saroj Khan is no more. She passed away due to cardiac arrest, and breathed her last early morning on July 3, at Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. Soon after her death, social media was flooded with posts from celebrities and fans mourning her demise. Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Madhuri Dixit, among others expressed their grief. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kangana Ranaut, and Akshay Kumar also took to their social media, remembering the memories they shared with the late choreographer.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was taught the dance moves for Yeh Ish Haye song from Jab We Met by Saroj Khan, shared a picture with her on set. She also shared a video of her dancing to the song, and wrote, “Master ji always told me... perrr nahin chala saktiii toh kam se kam face toh chalaaaaa. That’s what she taught me... to enjoy dancing, smile and smile through the eyes.There can never be another... Dance and expression can never be the same for us actors and for everyone who loved her...Love you master ji. Till we dance again... RIP #SarojKhan.”

Kangana Ranaut’s team posted, “A rare artist & an exceptional Guru, #SarojKhan ji has played crucial roles in many superstars journeys, giving memorable choreographies in Jugni from TWM, Ghani Bawari from TWMR & very recent lullaby Taktaki from Manikarnika, Kangana will always be indebted to her contribution.”

Akshay Kumar also expressed his grief and tweeted, “Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace.”


Saroj Khan, fondly called as Masterji by the film industry, had a career span of over 40 years, during which she choreographed more than 2,000 songs.
